PostHeaderIcon Stenciled Stairs!

I’m officially convinced that paint is the answer to everything. I had seen this image awhile back, pre-blog, and just came across it again and HAD to share. Check out these beautifully stenciled stairs in the below image done by artist Melanie Royals for Maryam of My Marrakesh fame. You can take a look at more of Melanie’s work here, and see or purchase some of her other stencils here. I love it all!

PostHeaderIcon Garbage lighting???

In a search I  came across this cute little French company called Garbage.  Old kitchen and house hold appliances are put to new use by adding lighting and a decorative touch creating uniquely crafted masterpieces. Many of these ideas could be applied to some of your own antique or flea market finds. Visit the company’s site for more ideas.

PostHeaderIcon Backsplashes that will catch any eye.

So what’s “in” on backsplashes…. bold and trendy. It’s the most useful decoration in the kitchen, protecting the wall from spitter splatters while managing to look pretty the whole time. Sometimes all a kitchen needs is a fresh new splash. Here are some of my favorites….
